About Vacaville

Vacaville's Colorful Past Creates Community Today
Vacaville's rich heritage has always been fueled by strong-willed pioneers who were determined to call this place home.

As most realtors will tell you, it's all about location, location, location. Their mantra isn't far from the truth when you consider Vacaville's central location as a jumping off point for travel in and around Northern California. We're only a short drive to the Bay Area's finest, the Napa/Sonoma Wine Country, the enchanting Lake Tahoe, and the bounty of the Central Valley. Whether you're coming for a night or planning an extended visit, our city's welcoming character and ideal location make it the perfect travel destination!

Vacaville is located in northern Solano County, midway between San Francisco and Sacramento. Incorporated in 1892, its 27 square miles are bordered by rolling hills, fruit orchards and fertile farmland and is intersected by Interstate 80, a freeway which incidentally leads all the way back to New York City so, yes, you CAN get there from here!
